Content Management Systems

We’ve created custom Content Management Systems (CMS) for several clients that serve vastly different needs.

We reccomend two different CMS packages to our clients. The first is Drupal CMS - it's open-source, full-features, highly customizable and has a very active development community and ample online support. Our Drupal installation is set up so that it's very easy to use for our clients, but under the hood it's extremely powerful and stable. We like it a lot, and so do our clients.

For simple blog-style sites, we reccomend WordPress. We like it for many of the same reasons mentioned with Drupal, but since it's focussed on blogs, that's generally what we use it for. WordPress also has the advantage of having a large number of available templates, which allow us to roll-out a great looking site very quickly.

When we deploy a CMS for our clients we also build a custom interface. This interface is customized not only in terms of functionality, but in terms of level of expertise of the end-user. We’ve built some that are extremely simple: choose a category, cut and paste text, press submit and you’re done. We’ve created others that allow the more technical user to take a bigger hand in how the material is going to look on the site. We can even create different interfaces with different options and levels of controls within the same site.
